In our yoga video, children learn to combine movement and mindfulness with the sun salutation: Each pose is used to thank nature for its gifts - from the sun and air to plants and animals. A short, cheerful yoga unit that is ideal for lessons and raises awareness of gratitude.
A greeting to the earth - children's yoga for gratitude and movement!
Our new children's yoga video is all about the sun salutation - combined with a wonderful mindfulness exercise. Throughout each pose, we thank nature for all that it gives us. The exercise can be wonderfully used by teachers as a short movement break in the school day. As the children stretch and move, they also learn to develop an awareness of nature and gratitude.
Here is an overview of why this gratitude sun salutation is ideal for the classroom:
Promotes movement and flexibility: The sun salutation offers gentle, dynamic movements that help children strengthen their muscles and keep their bodies flexible.
Trains mindfulness: In each position, children reflect on what they are grateful for - be it elements such as the sun and water or living beings such as plants and animals. This flow strengthens awareness and a sense of connection with the environment.
Supports positive thinking: By focusing on what nature offers them, children practice feeling gratitude. This promotes a positive attitude and increases well-being.
Ideal as relaxation in class: The flow is ideal as a short movement unit for in-between classes, which provides both activity and inner peace.
Teachers can use this yoga session to introduce children not only to movement, but also to mindfulness and gratitude. It's a great way to start the day full of energy, joy and connection! So come to the mat, get set, GO! Jump on the mat with Jil and let yourself be taken on a journey through nature and its precious things.
